Title: 21st Century Teacher

Objectives

  • Training in applying technology (tablets, computers and other modern equipment )in different educational settings aims at
    • providing learning equity regardless of the students 'background,
    • learning to understand, communicate, collaborate and create using different modes of technology,
    • learning to transform knowledge and skills into products, solutions and new information,
    • increasing motivation and engagement of learners, cater for different learning styles and improve learning outcomes.
  • Training in skills, techniques, and learn about innovative strategies aims at
    • reducing the dropout rate through more challenging curricula which provide sufficient support for successful student learning,
    • involving students in enjoyable and interesting activities which motivate them to attend school and get good grades because they like the activities,
    • creating a school environment that is inviting, warm, and supportive,
    • helping students to handle obstacles to their learning and meet their emergent basic needs,
    • providing opportunities for students to apply their learning in relevant, real world situations and help them to see the connections to their own futures.
  • Training in a wide variety of teaching - learning activities to develop the English language competence in order to
    • develop the language skills of students to communicate in different linguistic and cultural environments using not only the correct functions and grammar but also extralinguistic language;
    • promote literacy, multilingualism and multiculturalism as a key of cognitive and social skills.

Outcomes:

  1. 5 days trainng in ICT - new technologies - digital competences: 1) support and promote the use of digital technologies for learning and teaching, 2) advantages and disavantages of tablets usages in educational process compared to other ICT devices, 2) using a range of Apps covering different content and activities to support learning, communication and self-assessment (collaborative writing, digital photography, video, audio usability, presentation apps, assessment, evaluation, gamefication, etc.), 3) responsible and use of tablets and new media, 4) Integrate strategies and digital technologies effectively into a curriculum, 5) Best practice approaches and practical examples for using iPads and other tablets, or other mobile devices in lessons and education in different countries, 6) gain experience in an international learning environment and 7) improve foreign language competencies and broaden professional vocabulary.
  2. 5 days training in Early School Leaving / combating failure in education: 1) deepen the knowledge about the multi-facet reasons of early school leaving and be able to identify early warning signs on ESL, 2) Learn to motivate, guide and effectively assess students at risk of ESL, reduce low achievement in basic competences, promote peer exchange and active participation within educational environment and society, 3) gain techniques for working with heterogeneous classrooms and communities, deal with increased diversity of learners and support inclusion , 4) support open learning environment and develop digital literacy by using ICT effectively. 5) Improvement of the skills in team teaching, as one effective method with regard on organizational means against ESL.,6) improve foreign language competencies and broaden professional vocabulary.
  3. 5 days training in foreign languages : 1) Learning a variety of innovative didactic methods and new teaching techniques, 2) Ideas for creating interesting learning materials, 3) Creative integration of new digital technologies and tools in teaching English 4) communication techniques to promote the spoken language 6) ludic teaching methods, 5) alternative ways of assessing pupils' performance, 6) interdisciplinary ways to link English with others subjects 7) creating opportunities for English technical practice out of the class, 8) ways to improve students' communication skills and class management.
